Celebrate summer in beautiful downtown Culver City! Join us every third Wednesday for our Summer Block Parties where you can taste food from the area's award-winning restaurants, sip wine and cocktails as the sun goes down, enjoy live music under the stars, shop and sample from one-of-a-kind boutiques and view art at gallery gatherings. The Summer Block Parties will feature special offers and free goodies from over 30 participating businesses throughout the downtown area, as well as outdoor entertainment, and activities for all ages from Hoopnotica hula hooping with hula-hoops and lessons provided for event goers to free pole dancing lessons!.

This month’s block party features music by The Downtown Train and AK and Her Kalashnikovs. Playing styles ranging from Delta folk-blues to 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s electric blues, soul and jazz, early R&B and rock ‘n’ roll of the 1950’s, the Downtown Train takes you on a musical journey through time. AK and Her Kalashnikovs is a unique and original musical ensemble which includes balalaikas, mandolins, tinwhistles, accordions, violins, lauds, stand up bass, a variety of guitars, percussion and a pandeira that thinks it’s a Ringling Brothers Circus. Their repertoire is a collection of sharp left turns and foreign tongues. From Gypsy love songs to Russian lullabies to Serbian ballads to Spanish Copla to French pop to what sounds suspiciously like rock n roll.

We encourage visitors to carpool to the event and either valet park, or park for 2 hours free in once of our 3 available public parking structures; the Ince structure near Trader Joe's is preferred. Please do not park in downtown's residential neighborhoods.
